Abstraction Reportage

These images are part of a new series (abstraction reportage) I am working on exploring the dozens of images I shot during the attacks on the World Trade Center. The original images, both individually and as a body of work, are powerful and disturbing. By scanning the the original negative, isolating portions of the image, and then rephotographing (on film) powerful sections of the image, I feel I am bringing to the viewer what I recall seeing and feeling on that morning just two blocks from my studio in lower Manhattan.
